Terms of use

About these terms
Terra Scripta (terrascripta.com) is a free educational website run by an individual in the Republic of Korea. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Educational information, no warranty
The content is provided for general education. Articles are written and fact-checked with AI (see the editorial policy), historical borders and dates are often approximate, and mistakes are possible. The site is provided "as is", without any guarantee that it is accurate, complete or always available.
Please check important facts against the cited sources before relying on them, for example in school or academic work. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the site.
Reusing our content
Map data, images and excerpts from other sources remain under their own licences, which are named on the site: Natural Earth (public domain), Cliopatria / Seshat (CC BY 4.0), OpenHistoricalMap (CC0), Wikidata (CC0), Wikipedia excerpts (CC BY-SA 4.0) and Wikimedia Commons images (each with its author and licence). If you reuse them, follow those licences and credit the original authors.
You may quote short passages from the site's own articles if you name Terra Scripta and link to the page. For any other reuse, please ask first at contact@terrascripta.com.
Links and embedded content
Articles link to other websites and can show YouTube videos when you choose to play them. We are not responsible for the content or the policies of those websites and services.
Community rules for the Reports & Discussion board
Anyone can read the board; posting requires signing in with Google. When you post or comment, please follow these rules.
1. Stay on topic: corrections, missing information, suggestions and discussion of history, works, people and places on the site. When you report an error, give a source if you can.
2. Be respectful. No insults, harassment, threats, hate speech or discrimination.
3. No spam, advertising or self-promotion, and no links to harmful or unrelated websites.
4. Do not post personal information about yourself or anyone else, such as addresses, phone numbers or email addresses.
5. Do not post text or images that you do not have the right to share, and nothing illegal, sexually explicit or gratuitously violent. Historical violence can be discussed, but not glorified.
Moderation
Posts that receive several reports may be hidden automatically. The operator may hide or remove posts that break these rules and may block accounts that break them repeatedly. Reports of errors are checked against sources before the site is changed, so not every suggestion can be accepted.
Your posts
You keep the rights to what you write. By posting, you allow Terra Scripta to show your post on the site and to use the information in it to correct and improve the site. To have your posts or your account removed, write to contact@terrascripta.com. The privacy policy explains how board accounts are handled.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms when the site changes. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of this page. For questions, write to contact@terrascripta.com.
