概覽

剛果王國（1400年－1914年，剛果語：Wene wa Kongo）是位於非洲剛果河河口地區的古代部落聯盟。在剛果王國的鼎盛時期，其疆域覆蓋了西起大西洋海岸，東至寬果河，北起剛果河，南至寬扎河的廣大地區。

葡萄牙人於15世紀後期到達剛果河地區，成為最先與剛果王國進行來往的歐洲民族。與西班牙人在美洲的征服不同，葡萄牙人試圖與剛果建立友好的外交關係，並以其作為與剛果內地民族進行交往的媒介。1665年，剛果王安東尼奧一世在與葡萄牙軍隊的戰爭中陣亡，剛果王國從此陷入衰落。此後剛果王國名存實亡，分裂為多個互相敵對的公國，其昔日的國土成為葡萄牙人的殖民地。
