概覽

阿根廷共和國（西班牙語：República Argentina），通稱阿根廷（西班牙語：Argentina，發音：[aɾxenˈtina] ），是位於南美洲南部的主權國家。由23個省和布宜諾斯艾利斯自治市組成的聯邦共和國，占有南錐體的大部分，北鄰玻利維亞與巴拉圭，東北與巴西接壤，東臨烏拉圭與南大西洋，西接智利，南瀕德瑞克海峽。領土面積達2,780,400平方公里，位居世界第八，美洲第四，拉丁美洲第二，西班牙語諸國之首，橫跨多個氣候帶。阿根廷主張對南極洲的一部分、福克蘭群島（阿根廷稱馬爾維納斯群島）、南喬治亞島和南桑威奇群島擁有主權。

在文化上阿根廷呈現深度歐化，例如首都文化幾乎是歐洲城市文化的延伸。而社會品質、教育文化、市場經濟與法規上的發達，使阿根廷今日在民主和人權上有很大發展，也是南美唯一掌握人造衛星操作技術的國家。長久以來，阿根廷是一個中等強國和拉丁美洲的地域大國，它也是聯合國、世界銀行集團、世界貿易組織、南方共同市場、南美洲國家聯盟、拉美及加勒比國家共同體和伊比利美洲國家組織的創始國。作為一個傳統農業大國和新興市場國家，阿根廷是20國集團成員和拉美第三大經濟體。以購買力平價來計的人均國內生產總值處於中高水準，與智利和烏拉圭同屬拉美第一集團，與東南歐相同，人類發展指數處於極高級。收入不平等程度雖高，但低於拉美國家平均水準。

這一地區已知最早的人類活動發生在舊石器時代。西班牙殖民始於1512年。在1810年至1825年的獨立戰爭中，阿根廷以拉布拉他聯合省的國名於1816年發表《獨立宣言》，繼承了原西班牙拉布拉他總督轄區的大部分地區，在之後與西班牙和葡萄牙的戰爭中，聯合省政府繼而失去烏拉圭、玻利維亞和秘魯等地區。其後經過多年的內戰最終在1861年，布宜諾斯艾利斯邦擊敗了邦聯政府，與當時其它八個省重新統一為阿根廷共和國。至此，大規模的歐洲移民潮架起了阿根廷與歐洲之橋，無與倫比的發展使阿根廷於20世紀早期躋身世界第七富國。然而在1930年代軍事政變以後，政局不穩和周期性經濟危機使其陷入衰退。1945年後發展的裴隆主義至今仍然影響阿根廷政治。
