愛爾蘭（愛爾蘭語：Éire；英語：Ireland），也稱為愛爾蘭共和國（愛爾蘭語：Poblacht na hÉireann；英語：Republic of Ireland），是一個位於西歐的沿海國家。其領土位於愛爾蘭島，涵蓋該島的大部分地區。全國人口約540萬。首都及最大城市為都柏林。該國家僅與英國的構成國北愛爾蘭享有陸地邊界。除此之外，愛爾蘭四周被大西洋環繞，其南臨凱爾特海，東南接聖喬治海峽，東面為愛爾蘭海。

愛爾蘭是一個單一議會制共和國。其立法機構被稱之為愛爾蘭國會，由眾議院和參議院組成。愛爾蘭總統是愛爾蘭的國家元首，主要承擔禮儀性職責，但在特定憲法規定的情況下享有有限的權力。愛爾蘭總理為愛爾蘭的政府首腦，由眾議院選舉產生，並由總統任命。

現今的愛爾蘭共和國最初起源於1922年成立的愛爾蘭自由邦。愛爾蘭自由邦根據當年英國與愛爾蘭代表簽訂的《英愛條約》建立，是一個享有自治地位的大英國協領地。1937年，愛爾蘭通過新憲法，將國名正式定為「愛爾蘭」，並設立由選舉產生但不掌握行政實權的總統職位，標誌著該國事實上成為共和國。1949年，《1948年愛爾蘭共和國法令》正式生效，愛爾蘭由此在法律上正式成為共和國。愛爾蘭於1955年加入聯合國，並於1973年加入歐盟的前身——歐洲經濟共同體。在20世紀的大部分時間裡，愛爾蘭與北愛爾蘭之間缺乏制度化的官方聯繫。然而，到20世紀80年代和90年代，英國政府開始與愛爾蘭政府及北愛爾蘭各政黨合作，共同化解了被稱為「北愛爾蘭問題」的暴力衝突。1998年，《貝爾法斯特協議》（又稱《耶穌受難日協議》）簽署後，愛爾蘭政府與北愛爾蘭行政院開始在南北部長理事會框架下，就多個政策領域開展合作。

愛爾蘭是一個已開發國家，其生活品質位居世界前列。2022年，在調整不平等因素後，其人類發展指數排名全球第六。僅次於冰島、挪威、丹麥、瑞士和芬蘭。該國在醫療保健、經濟自由和新聞自由等方面亦位居全球前列。根據2024年《全球和平指數》報告，愛爾蘭被評為全球第二和平國家，僅次於冰島。
