Haiti (gesprochen [haˈiːti]; Haitianisch-Kreolisch , französisch [a.i.'ti]), amtlich Republik Haiti, ist ein auf der Insel Hispaniola in den Großen Antillen gelegener Inselstaat. Er umfasst den westlichen Teil der Karibikinsel, deren Ostteil die Dominikanische Republik einnimmt. Die etwa elf Millionen Einwohner Haitis sind größtenteils subsahara-afrikanischer Abstammung. Hauptstadt des Landes ist Port-au-Prince.
