Überblick
Die Republik Südafrika (RSA) ist ein Staat im südlichen Afrika. Er ist der am weitesten entwickelte Wirtschaftsraum des afrikanischen Kontinents.
Es gibt drei Hauptstädte: Die Regierung sitzt in Pretoria, das Parlament in Kapstadt und das Oberste Berufungsgericht in Bloemfontein. Die nach Einwohnern größten Metropolen (als Metropolgemeinden) sind Johannesburg, Kapstadt und Durban. Englisch ist die Verkehrssprache des Landes, meistgesprochene Sprache ist jedoch isiZulu, gefolgt von isiXhosa. Daneben sind Afrikaans und weitere sieben Bantu-Sprachen offizielle Sprachen des Landes.
