Überblick

Mit dem Begriff Krone von Aragonien (spanisch Corona de Aragón, aragonesisch Corona d’Aragón, katalanisch Corona d’Aragó) werden Herrschaftsgebiete unterschiedlicher Verfasstheit zusammengefasst, die im Osten der Pyrenäenhalbinsel und heutigen Südfrankreich sowie im (vorwiegend westlichen) Mittelmeerraum lagen und ab 1137 in Personalunion von den Königen von Aragonien bzw. ab 1516 den spanischen Königen regiert wurden. Dazu gehörten im Spätmittelalter die Königreiche Aragonien, Mallorca, Valencia, Sizilien, Sardinien, Korsika und Neapel, das Fürstentum Katalonien (gebildet aus den Katalanischen Grafschaften Barcelona, Roussillon und Cerdanya), zeitweise die Herzogtümer Athen und Neopatria, die Markgrafschaft Provence, und die Herrschaft Montpellier.
